Ka Taea e Tātou
Together we will succeed
Te Matapihi is pleased to present Kā Taea e Tātou - an online wānanga held in 2022 for emerging Māori Community Housing Providers.
Ka Taea e Tātou was produced in collaboration with the Independent Māori Statutory Board, Auckland Council, and the Community Housing Regulatory Authority. The wānanga also featured presentations from then emerging Māori Community Housing Providers, Te Kāinga Atawhai Housing Limited and Te Rau ō te Korimako.
Recordings
Community Housing Providers are assessed and monitored by the Community Housing Regulatory Authority according to the five performance standards:
Governance
Management
Financial Viability
Tenancy Management
Property and Asset Management
Below you will find recordings of presentations from the Regulatory Authority on each Performance Standard.
You will also find presentations from Te Kāinga Atawhai Housing Limited and Te Rau ō te Korimako about their experience with the application process as an emerging Māori Community Housing Provider.

Guidance Document
Te Matapihi has also produced a Guidance Document to support rōpū Māori to become registered Community Housing Providers.
The title is inspired by the whakatauki of Te Puea, “Ki te moemoea ahau, ko ahau anake. Ki te moemoea tātou, ka taea e tātou.”
Within Ka Taea e Tātou, you will find sound advice from registered Community Housing Providers (CHPs), insights from the Community Housing Regulatory Authority (CHRA), a breakdown of the registration process, and detailed guidance on how to prepare a CHP application.
